A field I did not plan to stop at

The bus took a different road and I got off at a stop I could not pronounce. Best afternoon of the trip.

A wide field of lavender under a pale morning sky

I had a plan. The plan involved a museum, a specific bakery, and being back before dark. The bus had other ideas and took a road I did not recognise.

So I got off. There was a field, and past the field more field, and a sky doing the thing where it cannot decide on a colour. I sat on a low wall for two hours and did not take a single photograph until the very end.

I think the point of travelling alone is that nobody is waiting for you to be finished. You can sit on a wall. Nobody checks.

I missed the bakery. I would do it again.
