I started making sourdough in 2025, and somehow, this is one of the projects that stuck.
Which is slightly surprising because I have a history of getting very excited about making things, making a few really good batches, perfecting them, and then quietly moving on.
Soap. Lip balm. There were others. =))
But sourdough stayed.
Maybe because there is always something else to figure out. The starter behaves differently. The dough feels different. The weather gets involved. One loaf comes out beautiful, and the next one makes you question every decision you've ever made.
And then there are the loaves that make you stop and think:
wait, I actually made that?
