Things I stopped apologising for this year

A short, honest list. Mostly about saying no, and how long it took me to learn the shape of it.

A quiet desk corner with a notebook and a warm cup

Leaving early. Not drinking. Reading the same book four times. Wanting the window seat. Needing a whole day where nothing is scheduled.

I used to attach a reason to each of these, as though a preference only counts if it comes with paperwork. It does not.

The list is short because the practice is hard. I will add to it next year.
